UP is actively seeking out-of-print books with a documented
history of prior readership for re-publication. We also
publish short nonfiction by professional writers. For qualified
books, no fees of any kind paid by authors. Generous
royalties are standard; modest advances may be considered.

POD book publishing makes it possible to bring back out-of-print
books, or test market new ones, quickly and economically
If your book was originally released by a major publisher
with moderate to good sales, UP now offers generous royalties
for re-publication rights. No fees of
any kind are paid by the author. In the interest
of full disclosure, please note that we require written
documentation of rights and revenues, and books must fully meet our
submission guidelines to qualify.
Some new books may also qualify,
especially short nonfiction. To inquire, please send
a 10-page excerpt in Word format, 100 word summary and a
detailed marketing plan.
For details, please send e-mail to:
[email protected]
We respectfully ask authors not to send entire manuscripts before
we review your summary, excerpt and marketing plan.
For new fiction, poetry and books for children, we suggest
self-publishing your book at our sister site,
where you can test market your book with no setup fees
or minimums. Self-published books that demonstrate good
public demand may qualify for publication UP.
UP authors receive royalties of at least $1.50 per retail sale.
Authors may also obtain copies for their own use (or re-sale)
at least 40% to 50% below cover price, lower in bulk.
Our policies are designed to reward authors who actively market
their books at live events, their own Web sites, and specialty
outlets beyond bookstores and libraries.
Upon acceptance, our goal is to produce books that are competitive
with those from major publishers in content, appearance and price --
but published at a fraction of the cost of traditional book publishing
methods. Following publication, most can remain in distribution for
years, in quantities large or small.
The UPside:
start-up costs are minimal;
little economic risk is required;
UP provides top quality technical work;
appearance of books is surprisingly attractive;
most titles can be back in circulation within months;
broad distribution and initial promotion are included!
