This is an eclectic collection of 20 short stories. Set in times and locales as varied as a Petaluma, California farm circa 1919, a barbershop in present-day Afghanistan, and a San Francisco comedy club in the time-traveling future, all the stories share one common trait: an always oblique, often comic glimpse into human nature.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rob Loughran’s first novel, High Steaks, won the 2002 New Mystery Award. He has 14 books in print including the comic sci-fi novel, T.A.P.F.O.S. Rob’s screenplay, The Bartender, based on a story in What Happens When the World Doesn’t End? is currently in pre-production. He teaches a popular creative writing class "Five Things I Wish I Did NOT know About Writing," at local junior colleges.
