much more inviting than this one... Our thanks once again
for getting us started..."
Unlike other POD publishers that release almost anything
(at the author's expense), UP is selective. Our goal is
to make UP titles virtually indistinguishable in content,
appearance and price from books released by major publishers.
UP emphasizes quality over quantity.
Our conviction is that independently-published books need not
be considered "poor cousins" to those from traditional publishers.
While new technologies drastically reduce the initial cost of
publishing a book, one need not sacrifice professional quality
in the process.
Sure, it takes more time and expense to release a quality book
than a poorly-written, poorly designed one... but it is now
possible to produce a professional product at a small
fraction of the cost of traditional methods.
The worldwide release of this fine book that started as a
POD paperback from UP provides objective evidence that our
books can achieve broad readership and appeal in the "major
leagues" of publishing.
