Welcome, authors and publishers! The UP system is designed to serve
the following groups that benefit from the latest "Print on Demand"
book publishing methods:
UP is selective, and releases only a limited number of new books each
year. Unlike vanity presses that flood the market with marginal books,
UP is quality-oriented. UP does not carry vanity press material,
hate material, nor books on dated subjects with limited shelf life.
We specialize in non-fiction works for library and academic markets,
but are always interested in promising new material, regardless of
genre or prior publication history.
Please see
recent UP news items for an overview of our
progress in developing a hybrid of new book publishing technologies
and proven publishing practices.
For
previously published books with a documented history of appeal
to readers, UP now offers generous royalties for re-publication
rights. In these cases, there are no fees of any kind paid by
authors, and modest advances may be considered.
For
new books whose public appeal is promising but unproven,
UP offers a high-quality subsidy publishing service designed
for professionals -- many of whom have already reported
solid critical review, media coverage and readership.
Either way, UP books are a cut above typical POD fare. A few
of our advantages include:
- Selectivity: all submissions are screened for quality
- No fees of any kind to re-publish qualified books
- Returnability for retailers; possible in-store stocking
- Competitive book prices for the public (and the author)
- Meaningful promotion and marketing, growing media exposure
