ABOUT THE BOOK

In the mid-1800s, young James Kennedy escapes the famines in Ireland, takes to the high seas, and travels to the new world. He endures a rough immigrant life on the Boston waterfront. A Boston girl takes a fancy to him, never to be forgotten.

Framed for murder, he must leave New England and seek his fortune farther west. A chance encounter with a colorful cattleman begins the journey of young Kennedy to the wild, untamed stretches of the Texas frontier, then to the muscular, majestic beauty of the Colorado mountains.

He carries the mysterious secret of a Ute American Indian relic in his wanderings across a young and vibrant America, and sets his sights on returning to Boston to settle old scores... always one step ahead of the law.
