ABOUT THE BOOK Redstripe and Other Dachshund Tales is a collection of five stories about the antics of the comical little hounds sometimes known (by those who don’t really understand them) as "Weiner Dogs." It is based on the travel adventures of the author, a retired educator, and his experiences with this loving and popular breed of dogs. Anyone around the globe who has ever been "owned" by one or more of these dogs will identify immediately with these little canines; Redstripe, Belle, Bernard, Lampshake and the rest. They all are true to the dachshund breed and therefore run rings around their human companions while proving what fools people can really be. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jack Magestro is a retired educator who has spent the last decade wandering around the back reaches of the Caribbean and Mexico. At home, he tries to keep in control of life in spite of the behaviors of his dachshund. She usually wreaks havoc with the order of things. Jack is owned by his wife, Jill, and his little dachshund, Belle and lives in a small town in Wisconsin. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin and licensed and experienced as a teacher, college instructor, principal and Information Technologist, he has taken time off from those careers to write.
