ABOUT THE BOOK
"The message Yehudah brings to parents and teens from his book Times Square Rabbi: Finding the Hope in Lost Kids’ Lives is that even when a teenager’s life is in crisis, caring can produce profound transformation."
"Yehudah Fine may be the only rabbi who trained on the fringe of civilization. Today a family therapist and lecturer on teens, depression, sexuality and spirituality, he spent ten years as the ‘Times Square Rabbi,’ patrolling the New York Streets, reaching out to homeless teens, runaways, and prostitutes."
"Religion is for people who wish to avoid going to hell. Spirituality is for people who have been there. Yehudah Fine is a spiritual rabbi who has dedicated his life to helping young people emerge from hell, and to preventing their reentry into it."
--Abraham J. Twerski,
Founder and Medical Director, Gateway Rehabilitation Center
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Winner of the Simon Rockower Award for excellence in journalism, Yehudah Fine is a unique therapist and rabbi with a long history of leadership, courage, energy and charisma.
Fine worked for over a decade with teens on the streets of New York City. Challenged by the problems of runaways, drugs, prostitution, violence and suicide, he integrated his understanding of classical wisdom with theories of recovery to form a new approach to personal change. Times Square Rabbi presents a gripping account of his experiences.
He now conducts nationwide seminars for parents and teens and is a regular guest on talk radio. Parenting Press will publish his next book.
