Once Upon a Farm
Through the Eyes of a Wife
by Lois Stark
UP Bookstore

ABOUT THE BOOK

Once Upon A Farm is a way to go home again--home being a family farm, something now rapidly disappearing from the American scene. The book offers a personal, passionate account of life on a family farm, presenting the real-life reflection of a woman who has lived it. Each vignette leaves the reader with a message. The author reminds us that we receive from agriculture not merely our food, but also many of the values and practices that have shaped America.

All readers of this book, farmers or city dwellers, with or without rural roots, will find themselves relating to the ideals and feelings expressed.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Lois Stark was born on a small farm in Wisconsin. For over 40 years she filled the role of farm wife partner and mother, partaking of all phases of farm life, from birthing calves to giving the invocation at a state Holstein Convention. Lois and her husband developed their farm and dairy herd from "pauper" beginnings to one of the top producing Holstein herds in the state.

After taking numerous classes by extension or correspondence, Lois began writing for publication. This book is one of the fruits of her labor.
