"This inspiring book does what our society is too often unwilling, or unable, to do: celebrate the lives of people who care enough to make a difference quietly. In this fast-paced age of sound bites, and 24-hour-a-day newscasts, stories like these often get lost. But the true heroes are the people who without fanfare -- make our world a better place, day by day."
-- Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle
ABOUT THE BOOK
The Lives and Legacies of Everyday Heroes introduces and applauds just a few individuals, including several South Dakotans, who possess great character and have important legacies to pass on. They are the people we all want as family members, friends, neighbors, teachers, colleagues, or mentors -- and they can inspire us to be everyday heroes ourselves.
