Unlimited Publishing shares net revenues from all retail sales
equally with the contributing publisher. We believe that an
equal split of retail net gives everyone an incentive to work
toward a common goal.
UP titles are distributed by the world's largest wholesale
distributors, Ingram and/or Baker & Taylor, and available to
order from thousands of major bookstores and online booksellers.
Below are approximate revenues from orders placed through
mainstream book industry channels for a 200 page trade paperback,
priced at $14.99:
Cover price: $14.99
Remaining income after discounts to wholesaler/retailer: $7.50
Remaining income after print cost: $3.00
Your share: $1.50
Earnings of $1.50 per book exclusive of royalties may sound
modest compared to books printed thousands at a time... and
they are! But remember that these figures apply only to
orders placed through the traditional book trade...
Important: you may also sell books directly to readers
from your own company's Web site, catalog or direct mail. UP
will provide your company with copies at a deep discount for
these purposes, at least 40% to 50% below cover price. If you
market to the public directly, your revenues can be $5 to $7 or
more per book.
Additional earnings are also possible from special sales in bulk to
institutions, book clubs, foreign publishers, etc. In larger volume,
per-unit costs can be lowered significantly. We have already
had orders as large as 12,000 units of a single title.
The UP system requires a much smaller investment than
conventional publishing, and dramatically lowers the risk of returned
and unsold copies.
In addition, once a book is released through UP, re-printing in quantity
is never again required, so most UP titles can remain in
distribution almost indefinitely, generating additional revenues
year after year, with little or no added expense.
If you have previously published titles that sold moderately
well, but not well enough to justify the cost of additional printings,
the UP system is the ideal way to get them back in circulation
with minimal risk and expense, and generate revenues for years to come.
You've already invested in acquisition, editorial and design costs;
why not put these books back to work?
The combined benefits of smaller investment, broad distribution,
long-term availability and reduced risk make the UP system ideal
for the small to midsize press to bring back out-of-print books,
test market new releases with a minimum of risk and expense, or
keep current titles in circulation without re-printing.
The math is simple. The choice is yours ...
